In the high valley of Rothenthurm with its moorland landscape lies the largest contiguous area of high moorland in Switzerland. The varied Finnenloipe trail leads through this Nordic-style landscape. The trail in the protected landscape is a unique natural delight. The starting and finishing points of the circular trail are not far from the red tower and just a stone's throw from the railroad station. The infrastructure there includes a changing room and a ski hire shop.
