Museums in Schwyz - In the footsteps of the Confederates

Anyone visiting Schwyz for the first time will be impressed by the scenic beauty of the area and the striking mountain backdrop of the Grosse and Kleine Mythen, the local mountain above Schwyz. A stroll through the small town, which the people of Schwyz affectionately call the "village", reveals the exciting combination of a sacred and secular center with a large village square.

Ital Reding House & Bethlehem House

The Ital Reding-Hofstatt is one of the most imposing buildings in the Altes Land Schwyz. With its magnificent rooms, rich interior and baroque garden, it conveys the splendor of a 17th century manor house. The "Bethlehem" residence, which was built in 1287, is also located within the walls surrounding the Ital Reding-Hofstatt.
