The "Origin of Switzerland" exhibition uses virtual guides, interactive media stations and selected objects to show you how the Swiss Confederation came into being in the Middle Ages. Immerse yourself in the medieval world: Meet a knight on horseback ready for battle, listen to a monk in the scriptorium or meet a muleteer on the Devil's Bridge.

The Museum of the Swiss Charters of Confederation explains the history of Switzerland and tells its stories, myths and legends, which have become an important part of our country's national identity. The focus is on the famous Federal Charter of 1291.

The Ital Reding-Hofstatt is one of the most imposing buildings in the Altes Land Schwyz. With its magnificent rooms, rich interior and baroque garden, it conveys the splendor of a 17th century manor house. The "Bethlehem" residence, which was built in 1287, is also located within the walls surrounding the Ital Reding-Hofstatt.

Cabinet of tree figures: a place where you can meet tree goblins and immerse yourself in another world. Indulge in culinary delights at the "Ambiente" meeting point. Meet, marvel, eat and drink in the presence of the tree figures by artist Alfons Bürgler.

Touchscreen and hologram instead of halberd: the Morgarten Information Center near the Letzi Tower uses state-of-the-art technology to convey history. A hologram shows the only known Morgarten artefacts: the Morgarten flag and the Morgarten letter, the originals of which are in the Museum of the Swiss Charters of Confederation in Schwyz.
